I'm coming back to talk to you today about a topic that we immediately think about when we're organizing or invited to a theme party: but how do I get dressed?
Of course, for the Gatsby Party theme, rhinestones, sequins, and other pearl necklaces are directly thought. But how to choose all the elements to be perfectly in the theme? Well, I'll try to give you the answer here! Unfortunately, the quality of the photos of this article is not great, I did not photograph the outfit before the evening, that's why I mainly composed this article with pieces of photos taken during the party, they are therefore not all of the optimal quality!
Back to our subject, as I did not necessarily have the budget to pay me a beautiful dress embroidered with sequins, I decided to compose my outfit as and when my findings, and of course, to make a party!
The dress
First, I went for a walk in thrift stores and vintage clothing stores. This is the best way to find original clothes (with sequins, fringes) and not too expensive. And who knows, you may be able to find THE perfect rare piece for your party.
I did not find vintage inspired dresses that suited me, but a short, pleated, pale pink skirt with a big black glittery elastic at the waist. But you prefer, vintage inspired dresses, you can also choose one of it that suits you. By putting it very low waist (as in the 20s!), It was perfectly suited to the theme. There was only to find the top!
While browsing Pinterest to inspire me in the choice of my outfit (and after watching 10 times Gatsby the Magnificent film ), I wanted to opt for a loose top, sleeveless, with a square neck or plunging neckline. I found my happiness at Zara with a black top simple and light. I then embellished with black sequins along the straps and neckline.
To complete the outfit I opted for low stitching flesh color, with black stitching. As for shoes, I had a crack at André's last year for these gorgeous sandals!
The accessories
For the accessories, I wanted to make myself my headband, after having cracked on several banners on Pinterest! The headband will be the subject of an entire article, the tutorial will be online Sunday! I embellished a brooch- shaped bow embroidered with pearls and sequins found in a haberdashery in Barcelona. Of pearl bracelets and two necklaces were added to my outfit.
Beauty treatment
Regarding the makeup, I applied a light coat of shadow spangled eyes and a line of black eyeshadow to the angled brush. The mascara and red dull red lip. And as the devil is in the details, I opted for black nail polish, covered with a transparent top coat with golden glitter!
